They say time goes faster once you're older and they seem to be right. I've got a lot on my plate this year and I don't think that's helping slow time down.
I'm finally feeling better, though my cough does raise some eyebrows still. I haven't smoked in over five years now, but apparently my coughs have forever been transformed. Hopefully by this time next week, I'm good as new.
Last week on the blog: Lolita by Nabokov and Six of Crows by Bardugo.

Lolita is a classic I've been meaning to read for a long time and I'm glad I finally got around to it. Six of Crows is a great book for any heist and fantasy fan.

Last week in my kitchen: I wanted to make a curry, and ended up handling beef that has gone off. Yuck. But I've made another bibimbap and created a weird lasagna that probably would make Italians frown, but it was delicious.

Last week at the cinema: Hidden Figures and Fences. I didn't like Fences. It's a play and it didn't translate well onto the big screen in my opinion, though Viola Davis' performance is amazing. Loved Hidden Figures though, very inspiring.

I've just finished The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin and I loved it, hopefully I can put a review up this week.

My movement streak and writing is going well. I hope everyone is having a great week :) Happy reading.

  1. Ugh, sorry to hear that cough is still lingering. Enough already, right? I've been meaning to see Hidden Figures for ages but still haven't. I need to get to it before it leaves the theaters. I considered seeing Table 19 today since I like Anna Kendrick but the reviews have been dismal. Might have to rethink that. I just read there's going to be a TV-version sequel to Love Actually that will air on the 25th this month (25th here in the U.S., 24th in the UK) and I'm excited to see that.

    1. Enough, so much enough. And I can't wait to see that Love Actually sequel though I'll be sad it's without Alan Rickman :(

  2. I think time definitely does go faster the older we are, or it must be our perception or something! I wish it would stop though ha ha! Six of Crows does seem to be getting lots of love. I have the sequel so I need to get it so I can read them.

    1. I think it's our perception but it's starting to be scary! I hope you will enjoy Six of Crows.

  4. Either time goes faster when you're older, or it's just plain going faster! The more and more technology we get and the smarter we are supposed to work the busier we are and the faster life passes us by! That's what it feels like anyway.

Congrats in not smoking for 5 years! That's awesome! I'm glad you're feeling much better and I hope the cough goes away soon.

Your lasagna comment made me laugh - it's all about the taste though!

The Fifth Season is on my TBR and I really want to get around to a few of those high fantasy authors that have been on my TBR forever - Jemisin, Rothfuss etc. Can't wait for your review!

Hope you have a great week Olivia!
