I bought myself new roller blades on Friday and yesterday we went to Victoria Park in London and just slowly, very slowly did our rounds. It was a lot of fun and the first really warm day this year. Though to day I feel muscles I've never felt before. I think this is all part of the getting old business. Last week it was yard work that made my muscles go ouch and this week wheels on my feet.
It was a good week otherwise. I got lots of writing done. Camp NaNoWriMo is going well and I can't wait for Easter because of all the chocolate.
Last week in my kitchen: I made the most epic sandwich ever on Sunday night. A mustard/garlic mayonnaise as the bottom layer, then thinly cut rump steak (cooked rare) and topped with a chilli coriander jam. Basically I took this recipe but I didn't make the bread myself (next time I will) and I didn't add any vegetable.
Last week on my blog:
- TTT - Fandoms I'm a Part Of
- The Color Purple by Alice Walker (picked up as a part of my trying to pick up more diverse books)
Next week on my blog: I still need to blog about Morning Star by Pierce Brown (Red Rising #3), You by Caroline Kepnes, The Obelisk Gate by N. K. Jemisin, The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay, Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and The God of Small Things by Roy Arundhati (wow, I'm behind).
Watership Down and Big Little Lies are next.
I hope everyone is having a great week with lots of sun!
I've always wanted to try rollerblading, it looks like so much fun! Glad you enjoyed it :)
ReplyDeleteThat sandwich sounds amazing! I'll definitely going to check out that recipe.
Have a lovely chocolate-filled Easter!

Apparently, according to this running magazine, it's great cross training as a runner and I much prefer it to running.
DeleteCheck out the recipe, I didn't do the bread, only the sauces and it took about 40 minutes to get the jam ready and the mayo was quick! I just bought bread from the supermarket!
Thank you :D
Wow, I haven't been on rollerblades for probably 15 years!! I was never very good at it (or ice skating), being pretty clumsy, so I think I spent more time on the pavement than I did on the rollerblades! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMe neither! It was good fun! I grew up in Switzerland being able to balance on snow and ice was mandatory growing up... so I'm not too bad at it.
DeleteBig Little Lies and Dark Matter- clearly I need to keep an eye on your blog this week. :) And that does sound like a pretty epic sandwich!
ReplyDeleteYeah rollerblades... it's been a while. :)
It's been decades, I think haha! And yes the sandwich was epic!
DeleteROLLERBLADING!! Oh it's been so long.. I wonder where I put my old ones...And so great to hear Camp NaNo is going well! College and a lot of other work has stopped me from taking part in Camp NaNo ..will be doing NaNoWriMo this year though!
ReplyDeleteAhh, the Rollerblades sound amazing although I don't know if I could do it anymore! Ha ha. It's been yonks! Also that sandwich? Drool!!!
